God has called Valley View Christian Church to lead every generation to a full life in Christ— and He has placed us here for such a time as this.
With thousands of new neighbors moving into our community, the Lord is inviting us to stretch beyond what’s comfortable, strengthen what He’s entrusted to us, and sow seeds for future generations. This is a faith project. It’s about making room for more people to encounter Jesus and grow in their faith.

OUR STORY
From 15 people meeting in an elementary school in 1957, to a thriving church on 25 acres in the valley today, Valley View has always been about stretching beyond walls, strengthening our faith, and sowing for the Kingdom. Over the decades, God has led us to expand—adding classrooms, enlarging our auditorium, and moving to our current campus in 2004. Now, He is calling us again to prepare for the future He is bringing.

WHY NOW?
Sterling Ranch and the surrounding Highlands Ranch and Littleton communities are bursting with growth. Sterling Ranch alone is projected to reach 33,000 residents over the next 20 years. Highlands Ranch already has more than 105,000 people, and Littleton nearly 46,000. We are the only Christian church within view of Sterling Ranch—perfectly positioned for impact. If we don’t stretch now, capacity will limit our ability to welcome and disciple the very people God is bringing to our doorstep.

WHAT ARE WE DOING?
To prepare for what God is doing, we will strengthen the stakes of our ministry by expanding our campus: a larger worship center to welcome more families and seekers, an expanded lobby to foster community, and new classrooms and meeting spaces where discipleship can flourish. Each element ensures that Valley View can remain a strong anchor for the rapidly growing valley.
For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building. By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it … For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. — 1 Corinthians 3:9–11

When the work is finished, our expanded space will be more than bricks and mortar — it will be a place of sowing. A place where every generation can worship, connect, and grow in Christ. A place where neighbors become family, and where the seeds planted now will bless generations to come.

A NOTE FROM PASTOR PHIL
We believe God is at work among us — strengthening our faith and leading us forward. From the beginning, Valley View has existed to lead every generation to a full life in Christ. That mission hasn’t changed. What has changed is the opportunity before us. God is bringing new people into our community, and with that comes a responsibility to be ready to welcome them and point them to Jesus.
Each week, people step onto our campus searching for hope. Many are one invitation away from encountering Christ. Growth isn’t something we’re trying to create, it’s something we’re called to steward. In this season, God is inviting us to make room.
Making Room is about listening for God’s leading and responding in obedience. Before it’s about space, it’s about our hearts. As we make room for God to work in us, He works through us. This journey is personal. Each of us is praying for someone we hope will come to know Jesus. Making Room means creating space for them to belong, hear the Gospel, and take their next step of faith.
I believe God has placed Valley View here for this moment. My prayer is that we’ll look back grateful that we followed His leading and made room so others could find life in Jesus.

What is a One Fund?
In the past, many churches — including ours — have used multiple fund designations to support ministry. God has faithfully used those approaches, and we’re grateful for His provision.
As we’ve prayed about where God is leading Valley View, we believe He’s inviting us into something simpler and more unified. Everything we do flows from one mission: to lead every generation to a full life in Christ. Our ministries are deeply connected — the spaces we gather in, the people we serve, the leaders who equip, and the way we reach our community and beyond. Because of this shared mission, our elders have chosen to move forward with a One Fund approach.
A One Fund means all generosity at Valley View supports one mission. There’s no separation between regular giving and initiative giving. Every gift — including commitments toward our MAKING ROOM vision — works together to create space for every generation to experience life in Christ.
The MAKING ROOM initiative will unfold over the next three years as we faithfully live out these commitments, trusting God to lead, provide, and use our obedience to impact generations to come.

We’ve included answers to frequently asked questions below to help clarify our capital campaign. If you don’t see your question addressed, please reach out to one of our pastors. Throughout Scripture, God calls His people to move forward when the harvest is ready (Ex. 33:14–17; Acts 16:6–10). Faith responds to open doors, not comfort zones. Churches plateau when they stop making room for new people. Healthy, outward-focused churches continually remove barriers — facility constraints being one of the biggest. We believe God is calling VVCC into a season where expanding space expands ministry. This isn’t about square footage. it’s about increased discipleship, baptisms, and sending capacity.
Where there is unity, God commands the blessing (Ps. 133:1–3). Division drains momentum; unity multiplies it. Alignment among key leaders is the #1 predictor of a successful campaign. Unity breeds clarity, confidence, and trust. The elders, staff, and ministry leaders stand together: one heart, one voice, one vision. This unity gives the congregation confidence to follow joyfully.
The early church grew both by multiplying leaders/locations (Acts 13–14) and gathering at larger hubs (Acts 2, Acts 5:12–14). Both are biblical; discernment determines which fits God’s assignment. Planting is healthy—but only when the sending church is not capacity-constrained. A church plant does not solve overcrowding, nor does it replace the need for a healthy home base. VVCC may still plant churches in the future—but right now our greatest bottleneck is insufficient space. Expansion strengthens our base so we can multiply later from a position of health.
Jesus teaches that faithfulness with what we have precedes being entrusted with more (Matt. 25:21). Before building, we must demonstrate that ministries are healthy, systems are strong, attendance patterns justify expansion, and growth cannot continue without more space. Our current ministry footprint is full. We run out of room for key environments—kids, worship, discipleship, and outreach. Expansion is the next faithful step of stewardship.
History—and Scripture—both remind us that when God is at work, growth follows (Acts 2:47). We fully anticipate that the worship center will one day be filled, and when that happens, it will be a sign of God’s faithfulness and the fruit of lives being reached.
This project is intentionally designed to balance faith and wisdom. Experience shows that worship centers with around 500 seats tend to fill quickly, often limiting momentum and ministry capacity. At the same time, moving immediately to a 1,000-seat space would exceed what we can responsibly afford at this stage. For that reason, we are planning a worship center of approximately 750 seats, which provides meaningful room for growth while remaining within the bounds of wise stewardship (Proverbs 21:5).
Additionally, the design allows flexibility for the future. If growth exceeds our expectations, we can add additional services and make strategic adjustments as needed. Our goal is not simply to build a room, but to prepare space for people—creating an environment that supports continued growth, expanded ministry, and the generations God will bring to this church in the years ahead.
We are moving forward trusting God for growth, while also stewarding the resources He has entrusted to us with care and discernment.
Acts 6 demonstrates that growth requires leadership structures, delegation, and expanding ministry roles. New space means new capacity—children’s ministry, worship, discipleship, pastoral care, and operations must scale accordingly. A building without a staffing plan is a liability, not an asset. Our plan includes strategic staffing phases as attendance grows—ensuring every new square foot is leveraged for discipleship, community, and mission.
Scripture reminds us that there is “a time for every matter under heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1), and wisdom calls us to move forward at a pace shaped not by urgency alone, but by faith-filled stewardship. At this stage, our timeline remains tentative—not because of uncertainty in the vision, but because our progress is intentionally tied to the resources God provides through His people.
Rather than advancing based solely on typical construction schedules, we are committed to meeting clear financial milestones that allow us to begin and complete this project responsibly. These include paying off approximately $2 million in existing debt and having an additional $3 million on hand to ensure the project can move forward without interruption. With these benchmarks in view, we anticipate a giving and preparation season of approximately 18 to 24 months, allowing us to begin construction with confidence that
what God has started among us can be brought to completion (Philippians 1:6).
This approach reflects our desire to grow wisely—creating space not only for buildings, but for sustainable ministry, long-term impact, and the generations God is still bringing to our church.
Scripture reminds us that faithful stewardship includes both counting the cost and trusting the Lord who provides (Luke 14:28). As we have prayerfully discerned the scope of this next step, we anticipate that completing the lobby, worship center, and the majority of the basement will require an investment of approximately $17.5 million. This figure represents more than a construction budget—it reflects our commitment to prepare space for continued growth, deeper ministry, and the lives God will bring through these doors in the years ahead.
In Exodus 35–36, the entire community participated joyfully in building God’s dwelling place. Collective sacrifice brought collective blessing. Broad participation results in long-term ownership. A campaign succeedswhen the whole church grows in generosity, not just a few large givers. We will invite every person in the
church—new believers, students, families, seniors—to take a step of faith and be part of the miracle God
performs here.
Debt is manageable when:
- It does not exceed reasonable ratios of income
- It does not limit staffing or ministry dollars
- It accelerates ministry rather than weighs it down
We will only take on debt that allows ministry to grow, not shrink. Our plan includes phased giving, sustainable budgets, and maintaining financial strength for future staffing and outreach.
Jesus commands us to “make disciples” (Matt. 28:19–20). Facilities are tools, not trophies. They exist to serve mission. Every room must have a purpose related to evangelism, discipleship, community, or mission. Healthy churches build spaces that reach people and grow people. This project creates environments where people can come to Christ, grow in Christ, and be sent by Christ. It is not about a building—it’s about transformed lives.
This expansion aligns with our long-term plan:
- Increasing disciples
- Increasing mission impact
- Growing staff responsibly
- Strengthening families
- Serving the community
It positions VVCC for a decade of fruitful ministry.
Every God-given vision includes both opportunity and opposition (Neh. 4; 1 Cor. 16:9). Prayer, fasting, unity, and holiness precede breakthrough. The greatest campaigns are spiritual renewals wrapped in building projects. The building is the fruit, but spiritual unity is the root. We are ready to pray boldly, give sacrificially, love deeply, and trust God fully. We believe God will grow us spiritually even more than He expands our facility.
